King's Record Trumps Her Press Releases
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 20, 2011
[Madison, WI…] The Committee to Elect a Republican Senate (CERS) reacted today to Senator Jessica King’s comments during the Democrat Party’s weekly radio address:
“Today, Jessica King said that 'in tough economic times the last thing the middle class, working families and seniors need is a tax increase.' That's news to the people of Oshkosh, who saw their property taxes go up by more than $1 million - 3.8 percent - under her budget in 2008.
“It’s easy for Senator King to cherry-pick Republican policies to criticize, because while she was busy campaigning in a recall election that cost Winnebago and Fond du Lac County taxpayers over $200,000, Republicans were working to balance the state budget and create jobs.
“Unfortunately for Jessica King, actions speak louder than words. Her newfound anti-tax rhetoric simply doesn’t match her tax-and-spend record.”
